Agile Shelties is located in Penticton, BC, Canada. We’re busy with our Shelties, showing in CKC conformation, obedience, CKC and CARO rally-obedience, and USDAA, NADAC, CKC & AAC agility. This kennel name presents an opportunity to branch into a direction of versatility. Our aim is to continue with lines that amplify the breed standard, possess sturdy construction with balanced movement that gets noticed in the show ring.
Agile Shelties are the vision of Renee Hughes, a certified dog trainer and past AAC Regional and National Master Judge from years 1999 to 2015. First certified as a dog trainer in 1999 by Canadian Pet Dog Trainers Assoc, and then the Animal Behavior Trainers Assoc. (ABTA – USA) in 2003. Also, she was awarded ‘Top Dog Trainer of the Year’, ‘Excellence In Training’ and ‘Most Sportsmanship’ in 2006 by the ABTA. She was a CKC Excellent level agility judge from 2003-2005. In 2008 she finished a Canadian Championship on a dog from her first home bred litter. Currently, she competes with her own dogs in the competitive venues of conformation, agility (AAC, CKC, NADAC, & USDAA), obedience and rally-o. She keeps a small number of dogs, that live as pets and companions.
